Lustenau
Sitting and enjoying a coffee surrounded by the sight and smell of fresh flowers can only be one thing, a beautiful, calming and enjoyable experience. That is what you are in for at this florist/café in Lustenau.
The name Sines originates from the first name of the great-grandfather of Valeria, the owner, and is also the house name of the family “Sinesis”, meaning gloss and ornament.
Looking to try somewhere new for breakfast on a day off I had arranged to meet a friend here for a long overdue catch up.

As it was during the week and there was only two of us, I didn’t even think to reserve a table, however that proved to nearly be a mistake, as when I arrived the café was already bustling with breakfast in full swing. Luckily after a few minutes a couple were finishing up and I jumped on their table. So the first lesson of the day, is make a reservation (sicher ist sicher).
I had a few minutes before my friend arrived and so I soaked in the amazing smells that were not only drifting over from the shop but also out of the kitchen. Their breakfast menu comprises of a few set menus all accompanied with a hot drink and then individual items to select depending on how hungry you are.
I would liken Sines to a visiting your Grandmas on a Sunday, from the gorgeous ornate milk jugs and sugar pots, to their selection of mouth-watering homemade cakes and the homely and welcoming service. The tables are covered with cool retro cupcake tablecloths and of course fresh flowers.
So for the food…I opted for a freshly baked roll, with spread, cucumbers and peppers. Whereas my friend went big with a selection of breads, a cheese and meat platter, different spreads and homemade marmalade, with orange juice (I did help her out a little bit). We each sampled their coffee which is locally sourced from Amann Kaffee and was the perfect pick me up before our food arrived.
The food was fresh, moreish and there was not one thing left on either of our plates. I had been tempted by the sound of their homemade Zopf, and so next time that will be my dish of choice.
They also have a garden, which you can take full advantage of during the warmer months and enjoy a cold Hugo or Mirtillo etc., or an ice cream from Kolibri Eis. Sounds good doesn’t it.
Even though during our visit the café was full, the service was quick, friendly and you never felt like you had to rush. This cosy and quaint, yet bright and airy café has all of the feel good vibes and we couldn’t help but leave with a big smile on our faces, and the promise that we would be back soon for a big slice of one of their homemade cakes.
