I’m Nicola,
Originally from the UK, I moved to Vorarlberg at the end of 2014 after spending seven years living in Sydney, Australia. I have always had a love for discovering great food, beautiful places and the stories behind the people and businesses that make a place special.
While living in Sydney, friends would often ask me for my “list” — my personal recommendations for cafés, restaurants, bars, food stores and hidden gems worth visiting. Whenever I travel somewhere new, I find myself doing the same thing: looking for recommendations from locals who know the best places to eat, explore and experience.
The Ländle List began as my way of creating that guide for Vorarlberg — a collection of my favourite discoveries and recommendations from the region I now call home.
From cosy cafés and memorable meals to local businesses, family-friendly outings and hidden gems, I hope to share the places that make Vorarlberg such a special place to live and explore.

A foreigners take on Austrian food
So after 8 months of living in Vorarlberg, I wanted to write down some thoughts regarding Austrian food. We all know what our assumptions were and what stereotypes we believed of Austrian food before we moved here, and so I wanted to reflect upon this and share just a few of my experiences so far.
