A New Chapter for The Ländle List

It’s been seven years since my last update—seven years filled with children, Covid, work, and the kind of life changes that quietly shift your priorities without you even noticing. Somewhere along the way, The Ländle List was put on hold.

Not because I stopped loving cafés, local shops or discovering beautiful places. Quite the opposite. Life simply became full in other ways.

But for a while now, something has been pulling me back.

A feeling that I miss sharing the places that make Vorarlberg feel like home. A feeling that I wanted a creative space again—something that was just mine. A feeling that this little blog still had a heartbeat.

So… I’m back.

Not in an “I’m exploring somewhere new every day” kind of way—because I’m not. Not in a “new café every weekend” kind of way—because that’s not what this season of life looks like anymore. But in a real, honest and sustainable way. A way that fits the life I’m living now.

Life Looks a Little Different These Days

Before becoming a mum, blogging meant slow mornings, long lunches and the luxury of sitting in a café for an hour, soaking up the atmosphere.

These days?

I have about three seconds to take a photo before someone asks for another hot chocolate, spills their juice, or announces they urgently need the toilet.

I’m juggling family life with two young daughters, a part‑time job, after‑school activities and everything else that comes with everyday life. Blogging has become something I do in the in‑between moments—after bedtime, during a quiet lunch break, or while waiting outside sport clubs.

It’s slower now. Less polished. A little more chaotic. And honestly, I think that’s made it better.

The recommendations you’ll find here aren’t based on visiting somewhere because I need content. They’re the places we genuinely choose to spend our time—the cafés we return to, the walks we enjoy as a family, the restaurants we recommend to friends and the little local businesses that deserve to be celebrated.

A Fresh Look, The Same Heart

The Ländle List has always been a hobby—a space to collect the places I love and hopefully inspire others to discover them too.

That hasn’t changed. What has changed is the direction of the blog slightly.

Over the years, my interests have grown beyond cafés and restaurants, so The Ländle List is growing too.

Alongside my favourite places to eat and drink, you’ll now find:

  • Independent shops and local finds
  • Walks and places to explore
  • Family‑friendly days out
  • The Ländle Lists—curated collections of favourite places, seasonal ideas and local recommendations

The website itself has also had a bit of an update. It has a new layout, clearer categories and a design that finally feels like the version of The Ländle List I always imagined.

Thank You

If you’ve been following The Ländle List since the early days, thank you for sticking around.

If you’ve only just found me, welcome—I hope you’ll discover somewhere new to enjoy.

And if you’re somewhere in between, I’m so glad you’re here.

I’d also love to hear from you. If you know a café, restaurant, local shop or hidden corner of Vorarlberg that you think deserves a visit, please get in touch. Some of the very best recommendations come from the people who know the region best.

Here’s to a new chapter.

Welcome back to The Ländle List.
